Missions and Social Justice

The Missions and Social Justice Committee every year organize the collection of groceries for our Thanksgiving Ingathering and the items are then brought to Interfaith Social Services to help families in over 14 communities on the South Shore. Each Christmas they also gather and present gifts for numerous local families in need at Interfaith Social Services and The Quincy Public Schools McKinney—Vento Homeless Assistance program.

Throughout the year, the Missions and Social Justice Committee provides opportunities for members and friends of QPCC to donate dollars, goods and time to assist our mission activities. We welcome volunteers for these projects.

The QPCC Mission and Social Justice Committee work with and support many local, national and global organizations such as:

  • Interfaith Social Services

  • Back Back Mission

The newest mission of the church, Laundry Love started on the last Wednesday in October 2021, thanks to the hard work of Karen DeCristofaro. Everyone deserves clean clothes! Click here to see calendar to verify dates.

The mission of Laundry Love is vital in our community, providing essential support to those in need. With a budget of approximately $300 a month, we are able to assist 20 to 30 individuals, enabling them to have clean clothes and a sense of dignity. During our two-hour sessions, we process between 40 to 80 loads of laundry, directly impacting lives in Quincy.

This year, the 2024 Winter Wonderland Fair will play a crucial role in sustaining our efforts. All proceeds from the fair will be directed towards funding Laundry Love, ensuring we can continue to serve our homeless neighbors, refugees, and community members who may simply need a helping hand. Your participation in the fair is not just about enjoying the fair festivities—it is also about contributing to a mission that uplifts the lives of those around us. Please join us in supporting this important cause.
