Worship is our human response to God’s deeds, God’s gifts, God’s saving love in the world and in our lives. At the Quincy Point Congregational Church, Sunday worship begins at 10 a.m.
As you arrive, an usher will greet you. As you look forward toward the chancel, you will see the Pastor and a Deacon enter to lead worship as the prelude concludes. In our tradition, a member of the congregation reads the scripture lesson each week.
Since biblical times the offering of music has been part of worship. Our ministry of music is both vocal and instrumental and is considered a true blessing in our church. You will hear hearty congregational hymn-singing here!
Each Sunday during the service, the pastor invites those present to offer prayer requests. These may be said out loud during the service or given to the pastor prior to the service or in communication with the church office during the week.
Most Sunday School students sit with family members or teachers during the opening moments of the worship service and depart for their classes following the first anthem.
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is offered the first Sunday of each month. We practice Open Communion which means that all who earnestly desire to participate and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ are welcome to receive the bread and cup. Grape juice is shared and gluten-free bread is available. We offer a monthly communion service the last Wednesday of each month at 10am in the chapel at 1000 Southern Artery.
Following the worship service, many folks go downstairs to the Social Hall for a time of fellowship and light refreshments. Our coffee is “fair trade.”
Worship Services are held every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. followed by Fellowship in the Social Hall.
